KKL-JNF House of Excellence in Kiryat Malakhi
The KKL-JNF House of Excellence in Kiryat Malakhi opened on September 1, 2020. The facility serves as an informal education and enrichment center for high
school youth of the city and its surroundings, who are being empowered with the necessary tools and skills for academic and personal success. At a later stage, the KKL-JNF House will also operate in the morning hours for the enjoyment and edification of the community.
The building's design is based on the prototype KKL-JNF House of Excellence in Nof HaGalil — invitingly bright and clean, with large windows to let in natural light and open spaces that create an atmosphere unlike that of a traditional school. The entire facility is accessible to people with disabilities and extends over an area of 586 square meters, surrounded by a courtyard for outdoor studies. The KKL-JNF House comprises learning spaces of different sizes and relaxation areas equipped with a variety of educational and multimedia resources to encourage creative learning.
The facility is divided into 5 classrooms, a multipurpose hall, meeting room, patio, kitchenette and an experiential learning hub. The classrooms have been designed for small groups, except for one large room (that can be divided into two), and a computer lab with the latest equipment. The multipurpose hall can accommodate about 90 people and will be used for workshops, lectures, performances and film screenings. The hub is an open space with poufs, armchairs, sofas, and video game consoles.
JNF UK adopted the House of Excellence in Kiryat Malakhi.
