Atlas Cedar

Erez Atlanti ~ ארז

Scientific name: Cedrus atlantica  / Family: Pinaceae

The Atlas cedar is not really native to Israel, but its relative, the famous Lebanese cedar, although it does not grow in Israel, is native to our region. KKL-JNF has used the tree, as have many other countries, for afforestation. This beautiful, hardy conifer can reach heights of up to 40 meters towering over the other forest trees.
