Olive trees are inseparable from Israel’s landscapes, whether great ancient specimens with gnarled trunks, or young plantations, just recently established. The olive tree has become an integral part of our environment, culture, folklore and art and its fruit and oil a basic staple. KKL-JNF plants olive groves in many parts of the country for landscaping and rehabilitating ancient agricultural terraces.
