Entertaining and Respite Activities for the Gaza Envelop Communities at KKL-JNF FFECs – 2018

Subject: Education, Community

June 2018 Status Update:  Detailed Planning

In the spring of 2018 tension in the Gaza border increased, and many local residents found themselves beset by rocket attacks and outbreaks of fire ignited by the incendiary kites launched from the Gaza Strip. As these events have made life in southern Israel very difficult, KKL-JNF is extending help to children and teenagers who need a respite from the tension and the looming Gaza threat. KKL-JNF is planning to host groups from the south at its Field and Forest Education Centers (FFEC) and organize interesting and enjoyable outings and activities in order to give them a break away from the firing line at sites where they can relax and have some fun.(No.15846)

KKL-JNF Mobile Educational Unit

Subject: Education, Community

June 2018 Status Update:  In Progress

KKL-JNF Mobile Educational Unit is a unique and enjoyable way to connect children and youth with KKL-JNF’s work in Israel and pass on Zionist, heritage, environment and ecological values. The great advantage of the "activity mobile" is that it can reach every area in Israel, and thus to a greater number of groups and populations who do not have exposure to Israel’s forests and nature in their daily lives. The Mobile Educational Unit offers fun activities related to forestry, water, sustainability, community, heritage, and Zionist identity. KKL-JNF hopes that the unit will become an integrative tool for strengthening the relationship between Israel's youth and nature, and teaching the importance of that relationship for Israel's future.(No.15528)
