Jordan Valley Regional Council - Kibbutz Alumot - Agricultural Land Preparation

Supporting Israeli agriculture, especially in peripheral areas in the Negev and Galilee, is one of KKL-JNF’s basic principles, and now, in conjunction with the Ministry of Agriculture, KKL-JNF is planning to prepare additional land for farming at Kibbutz Alumot in the Jordan Valley. Kibbutz Alumot is home to a warm-hearted, liberal and socially cohesive community of people who strive to promote education and agriculture. As farming is central to their way of life, the addition of new land will allow their kibbutz to keep growing and earning in order to ensure its future. (No.15825)


 

Upper Nazareth – KKL-JNF House for Excellence – Annual Operation

KKL-JNF initiated and developed the first “KKL-JNF House for Excellence” in Upper Nazareth, to serve as an educational and social center that provides a unique enjoyable and inspiring learning environment. By combining modern design, the latest technological equipment and expert teachers the KKL-JNF House is an ideal location for studies, activities, community, and social meetings that benefit young people and the entire city. The project is the ongoing annual operation of the center, which includes, among other things, guiding, study days, security, educational and professional equipment and cooperative ventures with other organizations and non-profs. Keren HaCarmel Forest – Shaar HaCarmel Recreation Area – Picnic Site

KKL-JNF’s Keren HaCarme Forest is one of the loveliest and most popular forests in Israel’s north, a part of the magnificent Carmel Ridge. Over the years, KKL-JNF developed tourism and recreation sites in this forest for the benefit of both the local population and all visitors. KKL-JNF is currently planning to build a new leisure site at the Shaar HaCarmel recreation area, in response to the growing demand for picnic sites at the Keren HaCarmel Forest. (No.15512)

 
 

Kfar Vradim – Green Development at Amirim School

The Amirim School at Kfar Vradim is a young and dynamic school that seeks to empower and educate its students and provide them with tools to help them during their school years and beyond. KKL-JNF, in collaboration with the Kfar Vradim Local Council, completed a comprehensive environmental development project that enhances the children’s, teachers’ and staff’s school experience, with new green areas for outdoors hangouts and structured activities and session.(No.15141)

 
 

Dalyat El Karmel – Yad LaBanim– Landscape Development

KKL-JNF, in collaboration with Yad Labanim for fallen Druze IDF soldiers in Daliyat al-Karmel, plans to develop the Yad Labanim complex and its surrounding area, and turn it into a big park with a grass amphitheater for ceremonies and various outdoor activities. This project will enable Yad Labanim to continue and serve as a culture and heritage center for the Druze community, creating a spacious, green, pleasant and appealing space that will respect the fallen and their families. Bar’am Forest – Mifgash HaNehalim Recreation Area

KKL-JNF developed a recreation area in the Bar’am Forest, in the Upper Galilee near the Lebanese border. The recreation area is located at the meeting of two streams, Dishon and Gush Halav, hence its Hebrew name: mifgash = meeting and nehalim = streams. The famous Israel National Trail, hiked by thousands of nature lovers every year, passes through the site. The recreation area provides hikers, visitors and local residents with a welcoming picnic area in the shade of the forest trees, bubbling streams and fascinating Galilee scenery. (No.14850)

 
 

Achihud Forest – Watchtower Renovation & Upgrade

In the 1960s, KKL-JNF built an impressive watchtower in the Achihud Forest, used by KKL-JNF foresters during the fire seasons. The importance of the watchtower for the KKL-JNF firefighting system is tremendous, since early detection of fires helps prevent the widespread of the fire and damages. The tower is also a unique tourist attraction with a spectacular 360o views of nearby communities, nature reserves and forests of the Galilee. Currently, the tower is closed to the public due to damages caused by vandalism and overall wear, but KKL-JNF is working to newly develop the site and reopen it to the general public year-round. Upper Galilee Regional Council – Kibbutz Tsivon – Preparing Land for Agriculture

KKL-JNF is committed to supporting agriculture in Israel, particularly in peripheral regions in the Negev and Galilee. As part of this commitment, KKL-JNF is planning, together with the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, to reclaim additional land for farming in Kibbutz Tsivon in the Upper Galilee. The residents of Tsivon are farmers who live off the land and the new plots will allow them to increase their crop yields and improve the economy and quality of life in the kibbutz. (No.15399)


 

The Lavi Forest: Instructional Area of the Golani Plant Nursery

The Golani Plant Nursery is one of three plant nurseries belonging to KKL-JNF Israel that grow and supply seeds, plants, and trees for planting in KKL-JNF forests throughout Israel. Since KKL-JNF holds educational activities and lessons about the work done in the nursery, it was necessary to set up a proper instructional area. Today the instructional area is an ideal place for the plant nursery workers to give workshops and educational sessions on raising plants from seed, plant preservation, and forestry. (No.14913)


 

Hula Lake Park – Bird Ringing Station Made Accessible to All

KKL-JNF made the Hula Lake bird ringing station accessible to all - including the visually and hearing impaired. The station serves researchers who monitor migrating and nesting birds at the Hula for the purpose of research and nature conservation. It is also an education site for visitors, who are invited to take part in watching the process of ringing (banding) the birds. By making the station accessible KKL-JNF ensures that people with special needs can also enjoy the site and the all activities it offers. (No.14287)
