Ensuring healthy lives and promoting well-being for all at all ages is essential to sustainable development.

In addition to preserving open spaces for a sustainable environment, KKL-JNF promotes public health and well-being through developing forest and urban walking and cycling trails, inclusive cycling trails, playgrounds, sports grounds and facilities, and forest leisure and recreation sites with fitness equipment, among many projects to encourage restorative activities in nature, open to all and free of charge.

Manages 120,000 hectares (300,000 acres) of forests and woodlands, which produce oxygen and provide leisure infrastructure, among the many ecosystem services for people's well-being 
The first organization in the world to have drawn up a national bike trail master plan for the trails that pass through the areas it manages. To date, KKL-JNF has created ~1,300 km of cycling trails in forests, crisscrossing the length and breadth of the country
Constructed urban bike trails that connect between neighborhoods and to forests: ~234 km
Constructed forest roads and security-agricultural roads in the periphery: ~8,000 km
Created forest picnic and leisure sites and scenic lookouts: ~1,343
Built forest and community walking trails: ~122; ~362 km long
Installed fitness equipment in forests: ~40 sites
Prepares overnight campgrounds and enables camping accommodations on its sites at no cost to the public  
Creates infrastructure for myriad educational activities, including "Forest Gardens", in which kindergarten and elementary school children regularly enjoy a day of learning in forest settings 
Developed parks and open spaces in local authorities: ~300
Provides tree saplings for regional and local councils: ~300,000 annual average
Partners in medical research institutions in the Galilee and the Arava
Implements projects in and around medical centers: ~52 (therapeutic green environments, promenades, respite and play areas)
Develops community parks in geographic and social peripheries: ~100
Plans and develops community forests and works cooperatively with residents on a range of community forest related activities: ~25  
Supports biosphere reserves and partners in their establishment and management (Megiddo, Mount Carmel, Jerusalem Hills, and the biosphere reserve slated for the Judean Plains) 
Preserves springs, winter pools and stream within its jurisdiction, while creating a monitoring system to ensure their functioning, including the ability to absorb the public and provide leisure and recreation options  
Attracts millions of annual vacation and holiday visitors to its forests
Makes forest and park sites partially or fully accessible for people with disabilities, according to the Israeli accessibility law and the conditions of the area: ~350
Open to the public 24/7 for the benefit of all, KKL-JNF's forests and their events and activities are free of charge
