KKL-JNF promotes renewable energy initiatives and research, the development of sustainable agriculture, and initiatives to minimize the use of natural resources and fossil fuels.
  
  Partners in alternative energy research, such as wind and solar
  Built infrastructure for research center buildings and laboratories: 5 (R&D Central Arava (Hatzeva), Kinneret College, Hula Valley, R&D Southern Arava Renewable Energy Research Center, Gilat Center for Arid & Semi-Arid Agricultural Research)
Implements green construction methods in its new building sites
Creates areas for water recycling in its three tree nurseries
Created a network of biking trails to encourage cycling as an alternative means of transportation:

  - 

~1,300 km of cycling trails in forests, crisscrossing the length and breadth of the country   
  -  ~234 km urban bike trails, connecting between neighborhoods, workplaces, industrial and residential areas, schools, and leisure and recreation sites 

  Collaborates with the Ministry of Environmental Protection to promote green public transportation with the purchase of ~62 electric buses, ~155 hybrid taxis, ~230 carpool vehicles, ~1,600 filters on garbage disposal trucks
